Special Education and Remedial Services

Special Education is a specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of a child with learning/academic concerns. Special Education programs and services adapt content, teaching methodology and delivery instruction to meet the appropriate needs of the child.

Remedial education is for students who have average or higher Intellectual abilities but are not performing well in school because they are struggling in areas like Reading, Writing, Language, Social science, Science or Mathematics.  The Remedial instruction targets the foundational skills the child needs to master.

Individualised Education Plan
  • Children with disabilities have the right to receive instruction and support designed to meet their specific needs. An Individualized education program (IEP) is a written agreement between the parents and the school about what the child needs and what will be done to address these needs. IEPs consists:- • The child's current level of academic performance. • The outcomes expected to be achieved for the child over a specified period of time. • The services that will be provided to support this growth. • When the plan will be reviewed and updated.
  • Inclusive Education happens when children with and without disabilities participate and learn together in the same environment. According to researchers, this kind of inclusive environment helps everyone in overall development. For a long time, children with disabilities were educated in separate classes or in separate schools. But, we now know that when children are educated together, positive academic and social outcomes occur for all the children involved.
